Norway introduction
Stretching along the western ridges of the Scandinavian Peninsula, Norway’s southern tip reaches as far south as Scotland and its northernmost regions extend beyond the Arctic Circle. What looks like wobbly tentacles on a map translates into spectacular coastline in real life. Numerous short boat trips and longer cruises allow visitors to take in Norway’s deservedly famous fjords. Other delights include picturesque yet cosmopolitan cities like Bergen and Oslo, hiking, skiing, and exploring the many remnants of Viking history that dot the country. And summer tourists north of the Arctic Circle are treated to the 24 hours of daylight that mark the “Land of the Midnight Sun.”
